Founded in 1945, the Irish Social Club of Boston has made its home in West Roxbury since 1980 and serves as a gathering place for the Irish community in greater Boston.

A Message from our President

Richie Gormley has been a public fixture in the West Roxbury area for many years. As owner and operator of the Gormley Funeral Home in West Roxbury, Richie has made substantial contributions to the community and the heritage he loves.

He served in the 1st Marine Division in Da Nang, Viet Nam where he was awarded the “Cross of Gallantry” for combat action. After returning from Viet Nam, Richie attended the New England Institute of Anatomy where he obtained his Funeral Director and Embalmer License. He is a member of the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association, National Funeral Directors Association, and the Irish Association of Funeral Directors.

We want to wish all our members and friends a healthy and safe 4th of July. We miss seeing everybody on Sunday nights but hope that Corona numbers continue to improve in Massachusetts and look forward to the day that we will be reunited.

We would especially like to thank Coly Flaherty for all his work on our roof. He added green flashing to the perimeter of our roof, and took care of all of our many leaks. We truly appreciate his hard work and professionalism.

We have been using this time to continue to make improvements to the club, and believe that you will enjoy the club even more in the future. Take care, and have an enjoyable 4th.
